Schedule your vacations

We all need to take breaks throughout the year, but if you are always waiting for the 'right' time to take one, they may never happen.  It is important to schedule your vacations.  A good rule of thumb I recommend to others is once a quarter.  And it does not have to be major vacations where you return feeling like you need another vacation to recover from the stress of a major vacation.  Even just long weekends away from your norm is enough.  When we are in our own environment- we are faced with the daily stressors of family life, work timelines, interacting with the same people who may come with certain pressures, and a routine we may be constantly struggling with.  The idea of doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results may mean that taking a vacation can be just enough to get the results you are looking for- immersing yourself in a different environment away from daily stressors, free from work stress, and interacting with new people who have not had enough time for you to feel the weight of chronic judgement.  They are important for your health!
